This restaurant is located in the Benton Park district. Generally a less affluent section of town, but has a lot of exciting near things occurring in the area. The restaurant itself appeared to not be complete yet and honestly a little dirty. The menu was printed on a sheet of paper and the ink was like from old homework assignments that were copied a million times. Also, a lot of items available was not on the menu or vice versa. The food itself was excellent. Very typical of Southern cooking. The friend chicken was excellent and be forewarned the wings ARE HUGE. They include the drumstick and the wing. They were a little salty, but had a very nice dipping sauce. THe turkey ribs also were incredibly tender and with an awesome sauce. Shrimp Po boy was made well, but the bread was a little heavy for me. Despite the name saying there is a bar - at the time of this review there was NO ALCOHOL. They had apparently had problems obtaining a liquor license. THe service was excellent largely because the bartender/waitress was incredibly friendly and very accommodating. She did mess up a few times, but overall she was so positive it did not matter.

First time in the place was last week. Step into the place an received a warm family welcome . Met owners & staff real down to earth people. My friend & I ask about the place an were giving a total experience about the food & what the place had to offer ( i.e. catering, having a private party, meetings). For lunch I had the Barbecue Chicken Bacon Cheese burger a.k.a. BCBCB cooked as I requested. Very friendly & nice. Second visit was for dinner ( I left photos) . The tilipia & spaghetti dinner was good. Ms. P. herself came out an joined me for dinner. This women is truly beautiful & fantastic personality. It pick up with guest for dinner, but the staff stayed on top of it. I enjoyed it please just check it out an see for yourself.

First let me say I will be coming back with the hope of giving this restaurant five stars. The owners are sweet and the location is fun. Their food is pretty good, but a bit too greasy for my taste. However, I don't eat meat, and I believe this is a great place for meat eaters. Worth my time and money.

I had the most wonderful time in a very long time, the restaurant was very clean and inviting for starters. As soon as I walked in we were immediately greeted with a friendly smile. She explained the Sunday special..which by the way was awesome! The quality of food was exceptional and service was great. The food had the right balance of flavor & spices to the palate..nothing too sweet or salty , also the desert was great....we will be back.

It looks like this place is still working out the kinks. The service was slow for it not being busy, and some of the silverware wasn't clean. The food seemed hit or miss. The biscuits were probably the worst part, while the eggs, sausage, and hash browns were good. We will probably come back at some point to give it another try.

Love the neighborhood where this sits. The people are incredibly nice and we had the BEST fried chicken and waffle. They keep it simple and delicious. My favorite part though was we wanted bloody mary's and she wasn't sure how to make it, but she came up with a spicy, tangy bloody that was exactly what we needed.

Great experience from the time we stepped in. The turkey ribs were fall off the bone tender and delicious. Who knew, turkey ribs! Also had the meatloaf with gravy and it was excellent. The greens, cornbread and fried corn were equally as good. Can't wait to go back. The waitress was friendly and helpful. Service was very good.

Great soul food! The greens were fantastic and fresh...I've missed this kind of food since moving up from down South.

You don't even know how good this place is! The staff is wonderful! Our waitress even brought me a chair for my handbag so I wouldn't have to place it on the floor. Talk about service! The shrimp po'boy was so good and a third of the price as peacemaker's and twice as good. My husband had the salmon croquettes which came with eggs, a fruit bowl (which had FRESH cut fruit), smothered potatoes and pancakes. He also had a Belgian waffle which was perfect. Our entire bill was $30! I couldn't believe how cheap everything was! If you're looking for amazing southern style food, you need to go to Mrs. P's! You won't regret it and neither will your bank account!

Went here tonight for the first time and will definitely be back. I had a catfish nugget po' boy with vegetable medley and fries. Others I was with had smothered pork chops with candies yams and greens and a shrimp po' boy. Everyone had good things to say. This is perfect soul food. The cornbread was everyone's favorite. I also had a strawberry daiquiri it was strong but amazing. We will definitely be back.

Service 5 stars Food 3.5 stars Ciera was our server and was so sweet. The atmosphere is super chill, our food came out in 25 or so minutes. I asked her to make me a drink, and she added one thing different and it curdled (cause it had Bailey's in it), and she comped it, but let us keep the drink since one of our party was willing to try it. The sweet potatoes are out of this world. Eat the sweet potatoes and hot water cornbread together. The mac and cheese is good (not super cheesy) - it was not really seasoned spicy (which is more my style), but was nice. I ordered the popcorn shrimp, and the first one she brought out was pretty overcooked, and when I tasted it is tasted like it had been fried in old oil. I didn't feel like bringing it up, but in 5 minutes, she brought over a perfectly cooked (and way better seasoned) order of popcorn shrimp. She said she told them the fix me another one - I thanked her. The fresh batch was great - simply seasoned with salt and (maybe lemon?) pepper. I ordered a jack and coke, really nice pour. The bf's grilled chicken was good, but overcooked too. The couple I was with said the turkey ribs were crazy good. So, at least the server is willing to everything right, but the kitchen's working out some kinks. I'll be back.
